Environment Agency
The Environment Agency works to create better places for people and wildlife, and support sustainable development in England. Our work includes regulating major industry and waste, regulating contaminated land, ensuring water quality and resources and managing the risk of flooding from main rivers, reservoirs, estuaries and the sea.
The Environment Agency is responsible for enforcing the Control of Pollution (Oil Storage) (England) Regulations 2001 and the Silage Slurry and Agricultural Fuel Oil Regulations (England) 2010.

Natural Resources Wales (NRW)
Natural Resources Wales is the largest Welsh Government Sponsored Body – employing 1,900 staff across Wales with a budget of £180 million. We were formed in April 2013, largely taking over the functions of the Countryside Council for Wales, Forestry Commission Wales and the Environment Agency in Wales, as well as certain Welsh Government functions.

Scottish Environment protection Agency (SEPA)
The Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA) is Scotland’s environmental regulator. Our purpose is to protect and improve the environment, including the sustainable management of natural resources. We also contribute to improving the health and wellbeing of people in Scotland and to achieving sustainable economic growth.
SEPA are responsible for enforcing the Water Environment (Miscellaneous) (Scotland) Regulations 2017. These regulations introduce General Binding Rules 26, 27 and 28 that cover the requirements for oil storage.

BSIF as members of the Oil Care Campaign
The British Safety Industry Federation (BSIF) is the lead association for the Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Regulations and is recognised as a Competent Authority by the Health & Safety Executive (HSE) and Trading Standards. The BSIF has active links with many government departments, over 130 representative Trade Bodies and has a members group, ‘Spill containment and control group’ who have a specific focus on the control and containment of oils and chemicals in the environment.
Today the BSIF is firmly established as the major independent voice of the British occupational safety and environmental protection industry, helping to both influence legislation and provide industry in general with a source of authoritative information on a range of workplace safety issues, while representing the needs of its members.

UK and Ireland Fuel Distributors Associations (UKIFDA)
The UK and Ireland Fuel Distributors Association (UKIFDA) is the trade association for the liquid fuels distribution industry. All UKIFDA members follow best practice and adhere to our strict Code of Conduct and Customer Charter.

Oil Firing Technical Association (Oftec)
Since its conception in 1991, OFTEC has been promoting the highest professional standards within the oil fired heating and cooking industry in both the UK and Republic of Ireland.
Through its activity as a trade association, OFTEC has established links with government agencies, training providers, and manufactures of oil fired appliances, oil storage tanks, and supply equipment. As well as offering comprehensive regulatory and best practice guidance to oil heating professionals through to end users, OFTEC also operates a ‘Competent Persons Scheme’ for the benefit of heating installers within England and Wales.

United Kingdom Lubricants Association (UKLA)
The UK Lubricants Association actively represents member company’s interests both at home and overseas.
Representing the majority of the UK Lubricants Industry, the UKLA is actively engaged with other trade associations, such as UEIL, ORA, UKPIA etc. on matters impacting the industry, through participation in consultation, representation and lobbying to UK and European Government and industry authorities.

Oil Recycling Association (ORA)
The ORA serves as the UK trade body connecting mineral oil producers, the users that produce waste oil and allied waste streams, legislators, regulators and the collection and processing companies that form most of its membership.
Our sector activity is part of the hazardous waste industry working in a matrix of complex Health, Safety and Environmental Regulation. It has links to other pertinent legislation e.g. Environmental Permitting Regulations (where waste consideration is a key element in permitting issues) and for the more recent chemical legislation that underpins our recovery operations. Its member company outputs include recovered base oils for re-use as lubricants blending materials and a range of industrial fuels.

Petroleum Equipment Installers and Maintenance Federation (PEIMF)
The PEIMF has a membership comprising those companies that provide contracting services in fuel equipment installation and maintenance. It provides input to Government Departments and Industry Panels that draft guidance, set standards and implement European Directives. It publishes a periodic publication ‘Insite’ which contains articles of a technical nature and keeps members informed of changes in legislation and market information.

Petrol Retailers Association (PRA)
The PRA represents the interests of the independent sector of the Retail Petroleum Industry. It looks after member’s interests by representation to Government and its departments and agencies on all matters relating to fuel retailing including legislation, health and safety, environmental protection, training etc. It also provides individual support and advice to members. It carries out research through its Technical Committee and prepares guidance on technical matters. It also provides input to Industry Committees.

UK Spill Association
UK and Ireland Spill Association is an independent not for profit trade association for the UK spill and incident response industry in the UK and Republic of Ireland.
